Hailing from a farm in southern Ontario, Kostas learned early the value of hard work, problem-solving, patience, and collaboration. While farm life was not for him, these qualities continue to shape his approach to legal practice.
Goddard Gamage’s practice in estate, capacity, and elder law is a natural extension of these values, and Kostas brings them to his everyday work as a valued lawyer at the firm. He advises clients on both contentious and non-contentious situations, with experience in estate litigation, guardianship proceedings, power of attorney and capacity litigation, estate administration, ODSP matters, advising substitute decision-makers, and estate planning and drafting.
Kostas takes a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach, grounded in an appreciation of the personal and emotional realities his clients often face. He understands the stress and uncertainty that can accompany estate and guardianship matters and works closely with clients to identify clear and effective paths forward. While he approaches files collaboratively and practically wherever possible, Kostas is also a determined advocate who is prepared to advance his clients’ interests firmly.
Years prior to becoming an associate lawyer at the firm, Kostas trained at Goddard Gamage as a summer and articling student, gaining early exposure to its specialized practice. During law school, he was actively involved with Pro Bono Students Canada, serving as a project lead and volunteering with JusticeNet and the GTA Wills Project. This experience helped shape his commitment to access to justice and his focus on estate and guardianship law.
Within the firm, Kostas plays an active role in mentoring students and junior lawyers, and is a valued proponent of the firm’s special culture and mission. He is strongly committed to knowledge-sharing and strengthening the firm’s practice and continued growth.
Outside of work, Kostas is an avid (though not necessarily gifted) hockey player and enjoys spending time outdoors. He visits his family farm whenever he has the chance, where he values the opportunity to unplug, spend time with animals, and stay connected to his roots. He otherwise enjoys travelling and reading history.
Kostas Renieris is an Associate at Goddard Gamage LLP. He was called to the bar in 2023 after completing his articles with the firm.
